DS Family House is designed to meet the needs of a young married couple and an elderly person, located in a populated urban area, with a slight elevation overlooking the city.
The directions of movement in the interior and the slope of the terrain are the main design element of the object. There is direct pedestrian access to the property and car access to the courtyard of the property, a driveway leading to the courtyard where a parking space is provided and pedestrian access leading to the main entrance on the ground floor and the entrance to the basement. The surrounding buildings influenced the choice of materials, the dark ribbed sheet that extends from the roof surfaces to the façade walls in combination with the white surfaces and large openings giving the object certain compactness and clear division of the two separate apartments. The glass walls of the living areas almost completely open and communicate well with the terrain and terraces.
The entrance to the ground floor of the building is at the back, it is organized more subtly and the building is accessed via a stepped staircase. The second entrance to the building is at the basement level on the side of the building, opposite the staircase leading to the ground floor of the building.
Two separate entrances on two different sides and floors have the task of completely separating the occupants of this facility. A smaller housing unit for one older person is organized in the basement of the building. The living room, dining room and kitchen are one unit, from where there are exits to the parterre, separated only by a glass wall. In addition to the living area, the basement has one bedroom.
The ground floor apartment is intended for housing of a young married couple. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are one unit, above the living room is the open space of the gallery so that the living room has a high light height and a view of the open space on the gallery. The gallery of the building is accessed via an internal staircase from the ground floor, and in the gallery, there is a night zone, ie bedrooms, bathroom, and open workspace. The front of the property is dominated by a spacious terrace, accessed from the living room and gallery. The walls are completely transparent so that the beautiful view of the city can be enjoyed from the inside of the building.
